June 5th- Day Off in the Mountains

Friday, June 5, 2009

Friday was our day off in Denver, Colorado after a long day of travels and games. This day was much needed after many of us not running on a lot of sleep. We got to sleep in until 8:30 a.m. this morning, in which we used all of those resting hours. For me, Sean Baumann, this was another night of weird roommate sleeping. I was sleeping with Nelly, and he is a weird sleeper. After he kept rolling over on me throughout the night, I had to finally kick him off the bed. This was around 4:34 a.m. in the morning recalling back. Nelly quickly awoke and got back onto the bed and went back to sleep without realizing what exactly happened. In the morning, after awakening, I told Nelly of the night battle and he soon tackled me into the bed and started beating me up. This didn’t last long because I soon went into super saiyan 7 mode and pushed him off me and into the wall. We then went down to the lobby to peruse the breakfast food and found that there were some great pastries. There were some delectable waffles and sausages that we devoured. Soon after this we started out on our adventure for the day. We had heard through the grape vine that we were going up the mountains, but we did not know for sure what was going to happen. We piled into two vans because Dale’s spaceship was being used to transport Sean Ryan and Kenny to the airport. So we piled the vans to the maximum capacity and headed out to Red Rock Amphitheater. On our way up to the theater, Blake Decker, of course, got us lost after passing the HUGE sign saying RED ROCKS THIS WAY. No worries though, this happens quite often, so we just sit back and enjoy the wasted half an hour in the van. Fifteen minutes later we arrived at the theater and wow, it was a sight to see! The amphitheater was surrounded by massive red rocks, hence the name Red Rock Amphitheater. The amphitheater had upwards of 100 rows, of 50 seats across which the locals were working out on. They were running/bounding up the rows, doing push-ups, lunges, and pretty much any exercise you can think of on there. Lets just say if Schneider were here, he would’ve been right there with the locals working out and getting ripped! Sam speaking: After enjoying the amphitheater, we decided to take a scenic two hour drive through the Mountains. It was snowy and cold up there but nonetheless still fun. We went up the mountain side were a lot of us took pictures and we even started a sparq warm-up on the mountain. After that all of us were very famished, and we had some delicious Colorado style pizza at Beau Jo’s Mountain Pizza. The salad was great and the pizza was as well. After that we drove back to the hotel were some later went to see a movie and eat out while others stayed and ordered Chinese and pizza from Dominos me and Nelly ordered wings pizza and a pasta bowl it was fresh but now were resting for our games tomorrow against the Colorado rapids.
